RECESS: A blast for families and a boost for fundraising

April 03, 2017

A lot of children woke up this morning asking their parents if they could go to 'that fun party' again. That’s how much of a hit yesterday’s RECESS event was with families.

Close to 1,500 people filled Ryerson’s Mattamy Athletic Centre on April 2, 2017 to enjoy the games, inflatables, hero capes, photo booths, music, dancing, food, PAW Patrol and the stormtroopers. The Eh Bee Family contributed to the fun as the entertaining RECESS hosts.

All proceeds from this first-year event will support the families of seriously ill children at Ronald McDonald House Charities Toronto.

Our more than 150 volunteers and our six Zone Sponsors deserve special mention for their support of RECESS. Collectively, they and others made this inaugural fundraising event possible.

While parents are having to explain to their children today that, sadly, they’re will be no RECESS this coming weekend, the success of RECESS this year means we promise to do it again in 2018. Watch for information about the date in the coming months!

Hi Tony. Thanks for coming to RECESS. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that City posted our segment online.
