Programs and Services
The House offers more than 20 programs and a variety of courtesy services to provide families with some fun and relaxation during chaotic times.
Food programs: Our array of food programs includes our Home for Dinner program, in which corporate and community groups support families by cooking a healthy meal up to three or four nights a week. We offer food staples in our pantry, and adults and children can enjoy participating in our cooking classes.
Activity program: Run by our amazing volunteers, our activity program creates a vibrant environment in the House that encourages imagination, fun and creativity. Activities include crafts, woodworking, cooking, games, pet visits, movie nights and holiday-themed parties.
Wellness program: Complimentary massages, yoga and workshops for parents on self-care and wellness help ease the burden on family members of all ages.
Child Life program: Our trained Child Life Specialist helps ease children's anxiety and assist all family members in coping with the stress of their situation.
Family car: Available to family members, 25 years and older, holding a valid G driver's license, on a sign-out basis for use in the GTA.
Help Yourself cupboard: Stocked with free toiletries, clothing and other items families might need.
Loan items: Strollers, cribs, playpens, car seats and other large child care items are available for loan at the Front Desk.
